Thankful

This is the weekend after Thanksgiving. We spent the day with our friends. She is deploying this week. It was a wonderful day of food and friendship.

Friday I managed to drag out for a couple of sales at JoAnns and JCP. It was a little intense with all the crowds. I didn't really do too much damage!

Saturday I was fortunate enough to go to my LSS and spend the day at a 12 hr crop. I worked on a recipe book for my Mom and some cards for a gift I'm making. I'll try to post some pics once they are ready to go. I also spent time there with one of my best stamping buddies. We were able to catch up since her trip home to Wisconsin.
I got a lot done and it was a good group of ladies.

Today, I spent time catching up on some much needed rest and did a little stamping this afternoon. I also completed a little bird house and a tray for the holidays. I'll try to post some pictures of that too.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so grateful for the wonderful friends that I have in my life, my family, my pets and my art. The experiences I have been blessed to have in my life are more than I ever hoped to receive.

Many Blessings to all of you,

Pamela

Another Visit

This year I have had a chance to visit several midwest stores that specialize in stamping and scrapbooking. I traveled to Des Moines in July, Memory bound was one of my favorites there. I love Ben Franklin in Lincoln NE. I was also able to visit Stamper's Ink in Kansas City home of Riley the Moose. Love him he is so cute! Today I went to Kettering Ohio and visited Simply Scrapbooking. Beate from splitcoaststampers recommended it to me. What a wonderful store! Loads of stamps and all the "stuff" you need to go with them. Sizzix dies, cuttlebug, EK success etc....and of course paper. Lots of vintage items such as Crafty secrets and Graphic 45 as well as Webster's pages. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to try to squeeze into my tiny carry on. But I ended up with a set from Just Rite stamps, some trim from Girls Paperie, a set of sizzix embossing folders by Tim Holtz and a bottle of Tattered angels GLAM in gold.

I can't wait to get home..finish this weeks homework and then PLAY!.

Thanks to Beate for recommending the store.... Happy Stamping!

Christmas Cards

Here are some cards I made recently. I hope you like them.

I'm still working on a few more. I hope to post those next weekend. It's hard to believe it is November. We've been so blessed to have wonderful weather. I think today was one of the top days of the year. Sunny with fall colors in abundance.

I'm still plugging away at school. I'm healing pretty well from my accident, but I have a long road ahead with the dentist.

Hope all of you are enjoying wonderful fall weather as well.

Fall is here

OK, so maybe I'm a seasonal blogger. Is it fall already? My favorite time of the year. I love the leaves, the crisp feel of the air and of course the Halloween images. Lately I am very inspried by the vintage feel of things and feeling nostalgic. I've been playing with some images from Graphic 45, Stampin UP! and some Tim Holtz goodies I've picked up. Of course, I have my eye on the holidays already and lots of glitter for poinsettias, swirls, ornaments etc. Its a great season for cardmaking. Now just to find some time.

It seems every day I work and do homework, work and do homework. It's an endless treadmill. But, I keep thinking I'm more than halfway done and I just need to stick with it.

So now I have to say good bye, because today homework is due to the discussion board and of course, I am waiting to post mine on the last day. Hopefully, this weekend I can carve a little time in the stamp room and produce a little treasure or two.

Hopefully, I'll blog again before Christmas.

Time to breathe

Well, I am not as good of a blogger as I hoped. It's been too long.
My Master's class is plugging along. Finally just passed the halfway mark. I have to admit I'm a little burned out. But, I know I have to finish.

I changed jobs. Not really offices, I just moved from one cubicle to the other. It's just more secure. But a little stressful right now.

We've had gorgeous weather for July this weekend. Only in the 80s both days and a little breeze. Yesterday I slept most of the day away (my back was killing me) and today I sat outside and painted a little chest I had to put "stuff" in and some bird houses for Mom.

The fence should get started this week. That will be good. Add that to the list of summer accomplishments- roof, steps, fence. Still a lot of work to be done on this house.

Stamping some stuff as well. I just need to get busy and post some photos.

More to come.

I'm not disappointed

Well, SU lost last night. I wish I could say I'm disappointed, but it was a fair loss. So good luck to all of the "little" teams that are handing out upsets left and right. My brackets broke week one, but I held on during a round robin for a long time. I think I'm pretty much out of it now.

On the other hand the ladies of Nebraska are making a strong showing so I hope they do continue to do well. Regardless of who wins, March madness is still my favorite time of year.

St Patty's in the Air

Hi Everyone,

I just finished my St Patricks day cards and thought I would post one. I used some reminisce paper I had, gable green cardstock for the base, Garden green for the shamrock and gable green for the horseshoe. I shaded the horseshoe with chalk. The studs I found at a scrapbook store, but the top fell off the package so I don't know what brand they are- but you can find them with the other gems.

I cut the hat w/ my cricut using the Designer Calendar cartridge and I used the Old West cartridge for the horseshoe. There is also a shamrock available on the Child's Play cartridge but I don't have that one.

On the inside I stamped Happy St, Patricks day.

This break in the dull weather certainly makes everyone's spirits a little better.

Hope you are enjoying it as well. (Even though it is pretty sad that I'm excited it's over 30 degrees). But I always say 30 with sun is better than 30 without sun.

Have a great week!

Happy Stamping!
Pamela
