One month down!

Hello,
Well, the first month of January flew by! That means I'm just 2 months away from finishing school. WhoHoo!!! It means spring will be here soon.

Many of you may remember I had a goal to create 365 cards this year. Well I made it for January. I may have cheated just a bit because I bought a kit that made about 15 cards, but I'm not going to beat myself up over that. I made my goal and now it is onto Feb. This morning I took about 20 minutes and worked on a Valentine card for a friend of mine that is not a "romantic interest" but a man; it's almost done so I'll try to snap a picture of it and post it.

I also am anxious to start my Valentine's day cards. Those are some of my favorites to make- next to Halloween. I bought a new MS punch to play with as well. I hope that what I want to do with it works. It is a scrolled heart. So look forward to seeing a little red and pink on the board soon.

I hope all of you are doing well and getting a little time to explore your creative side.

Wishing I had ink on my fingers

Well it's snowing, but not enough to keep me home. I have a paper to write for school. I really wish I had time to go and stamp! I have a card back there that I keep going back to---I just need to finish it. I also have some pictures to post. I hope that the weekend will bring more time. Anyone want to write my paper and work on my project so I can go play? Just kidding. Hope all of you are inside where it it is warm and enjoying a warm fire!

New Toys!

Hey there,
Just a short post today as I have a project for school to work on today. No time to play with my new toys (boo-hoo). I got some of the McGill Paper Blossom punches. I made two roses and some lilys. I'll try to post some pics later tonight or tomorrow.
They are pretty easy, but a little time consuming when you punch the pieces, then chalk or ink them, then you mold them with tweezers and finally you glue them. But I have to say, they are very realistic. The lilies are easier than the roses and if you do them in red they look like Poinsettias. I think I will use them on top of a box and do a Valentine's project.

The McGill website has more info and I found a YouTube video that they had done as well.

Hope all of you have a wonderful week!

A snowy day

Hello friends,

Well Sunday and Monday it snowed quite a bit here in Nebraska. I have about 8 inches in the yard. We reported to work late and then were dismissed early. Yesterday and today the schools were closed. Today they should have been open. I have to laugh when people say that I got a lot of time off...Yes I was not at work, I was at home...shoveling!! At least yesterday it wasn't extremely cold or windy. Today is another story. High today around 14 and a whipping wind.

I rec'd some new punches in the mail today I can't wait until the weekend to play with them and post some photos.

Until then....Happy Stamping!

Keeping busy in the New Year

Well here it is 10 days already gone in 2011. I can't believe it. One of my resolutions is to make 365 cards this year. I am off to an OK start. I have more than 10 made. Most of them I will sell, donate or give to my friends. I have posted some pictures for you here.

I also want to try to submit to some magazines this year. Those are my two resolutions.

Instead of other resolutions I am setting weekly goals. Last week it was to exercise in the gym at least 2 times. I made it to the gym twice and I did a Pilates class on Saturday loved that! I also shoveled snow on Sunday. I didn't love that so much.

This week my goal is to go to they gym twice and to keep a food journal on line. Then I am going to try to make a journal and write in it. We'll see. My class has me very busy and I don't know if I can fit everything in. But I will certainly try and not beat myself up if I can perfect everything. I have to really focus on the class because I want to go to a crop on Friday and make some more cards. I'm in a zone now.

Back to the cards. I used some images from Hero Arts, papers from Graphic 45, Webster's pages and DCWV. The crinkly ribbon I made myself and the buttons I got from an antique fair this summer. It started as a project to use the scraps on my table and then out came the sewing machine. It kept going from there and I was glad to have an afternoon to do it.

The brown card is embossed with the cuttlebug and the wood pear is from K&Co. The card w/ the car is from Tattered Angels. It is a retirement card. I hope you enjoy them.

Wishing you all the best-until next time. Happy Stamping!
